SILLY 6

After much deliberation I finally gathered the courage to watch Delhi 6. And how the movie was????? Well you could have got an idea after reading the heading of this post.

'From the makers of Rang De Basanti' was what the posters of Delhi 6 were shouting. Though I had not watched Rang De Basanti, but I knew that it was a hit. I had seen this director's first movie Aks and had liked it. So I thought of watching Delhi 6 and what was the result??? AN ABSOLUTE WASTE OF THREE HOURS

The movie began on a boring note but I was thinking that it might gather steam at some point of time and was eternally waiting......But the movie never gathered steam. The Kala Bandar fracas was an absolute nonsense. India is marching into the glories of development and I don't know if people would actually draw battle lines over a trivial issue like the belief of the Kala Bandar???? How disgusting, but this is what the entire climax is all about or I guess the whole movie is all about.

I watched this movie just because I wanted to stay awake till the time the football match between Manchester United and Inter Milan starts, but I was actually fighting a war with myself to stay awake watching this movie.

Now lets face a bitter truth. Abhishek was the weakest link of the movie. He might be a good actor, but he definitely is not a STAR. And you need a STAR to pull off offbeat films like these. Just like King Khan managed to do in Chak De India.

Well.....Does the film have any positives????? Yeah it has. A.R Rehman's music, the supporting cast and Sonam Kapoor. You never question or rate A.R Rehman's music because you SHOULD like it. If you don't like A.R Rehman's music, then you better get your ears checked. Come on he is an Oscar Winner after all.

Sonam Kapoor could have been the saving grace of the movie but was under utilized. She has the charm that instantly catches your attention.

The remaining cast was awesome with Vijay Raaz and Divya Dutta standing out.

Don't waste your time on this one as there are better things to do in three precious hours.

JAI HO REHMAN!!!!!!!!!!

If I am not wrong A.R Rehman became the forth Indian to win the Oscar after Bhanu Athaiya (Best Costume Design-Gandhi), Satyajit Ray (Lifetime Achievement Award) and Resul Pookutty (Best Sound Mixing-Slumdog Millionaire).

But what is even more stunning is that he won two major awards, Best Music and Best Song on a single awards night, which only a handful people have managed.

A.R Rehman was always considered a genius but now that assumption has got a stamp of authority in the form of 'THE' Oscars. He has composed unparalled music for several Hindi movies like Dil Se, Swades etc. His Chaiyya Chaiyya number still rules the roost.

Now the entire world has sat up and acknowledged the genius of Rehman. He has been sweeping many International awards for his prodigious music in Slumdog Millionaire like the Golden Globes et al.

He had won the national award for his very first movie as a music director- Roja and his song Choti Si Aasha gripping the entire nation. A.R Rehman has done the entire nation proud with all his deeds.

Incidentally the film Slumdog Millionaire for which Rehman had composed the music has swept the Oscar awards this year bagging 8 trophies including the 'Best Movie Award'.

'WAY TO GO REHMAN, JAI HO!!!!!!!!!!'

My Favourite Orators

1) BARACK OBAMA

Probably the BEST orator the world has seen in a long time. His inaugural speech after becoming the President was a class apart and a class ahead of all other orators of the world. The way he started his speech, his modulations, his gestures, his conclusion etc was all elan personified.

2) THE OWAISI BROTHERS

Probably the most explosive JODI of Hyderabad. This MP-MLA JODI of Asaduddin Owaisi and Akbaruddin Owaisi comes second on my list of favourite Orators. The way they speak combining the nuances of both English and Urdu are simply mind blowing.

I have always been fascinated by Public Speaking and try listening to famous people who I think are simply exceptional. I try to model my oratory skills in line with these people because following the leaders put you on the path of being one.

But I would also like to make it clear that I am not even remotely interested in politics, but I am fascinated by some of the politicians' oratory skills. Moreover you don't need to be a politician to have exceptional oratory skills.

P.S:- 'O' for Orators, 'O' for Obama and 'O' for Owaisi. An interesting coincidence or a thought provoking conclusion?????

Some Interesting Pieces Of NEWS In The Week Gone By

Valentine Hoo Haa

Over the past week a lot of hue and cry is being made over the Valentine's Day. A lot of so called social lecturing and so called 'heartfelt appeals' by individuals and organizations were being delivered. One simple question to all these self styled 'Moral Police' is that where are you in the remaining 364 days of a year and why make your presence felt on a single day that happens to fall on Feb 14th???????

King Khan's Mannat Attacked

A couple of miscreants threw kerosene filled bottles at King's home. Now whether those goons were hired by Aamir Khan is something we will never know because he had indulged in a lot of mudslinging at King Khan when King Khan was away in USA shooting for his next movie-'My Name Is Khan', to which King Khan had rightly said:- "Jab sher jungle ke baahar jaata hai toh bandar bhi uske singhaasan pe baithta hai"

Nithari Killings accused awarded Death Penalty

After I read this piece of NEWS, I was like, 'Thats IT'. Death is way too less a punishment for all those deeds that the duo of Koli and Pandher had done.

Rail Budget a WINNER as usual

Lalu Yadav has again come up with a winner that he is accustomed to. A PLEASE ALL Budget.

Mashrafe knighted for a staggering US$600,000

Mashrafe Mortaza became Bangladesh's richest cricketer when King Khan owned Kolkata Knight Riders picked him up for US$600,000 - a 1100% increase from his base price as fixed by the IPL.

Do You Still Think The Word 'IMPOSSIBLE' Exists ?????

1) The first pic depicts King Khan with his friends at Hansraj College. None of his friends at that time must have thought that King Khan would one day become the World's Most Powerful Movie Star.

2) The second pic depicts Barack Obama at his Grand Mother's place. Even Barack Obama at that point of time might never have thought that he would graduate from the ordinary chair that he is sitting on to the chair of the World's Most Powerful Man.

Aa Ab Laut Chalen !!!!!

Dulhan Si Saji Dharti, Khula Woh Aasmaan,
Hame Phir Bulaata Hai Pyaar Ka Woh Jahan,
AA AB LAUT CHALEN

Though I am in Bangalore, only 13 hrs or 1 hr journey from my JAAN - HYDERABAD, but it feels that actually I am living in altogether a new country. It makes me nostalgic when the feeling strikes me that in a couple of days I will be going back home as my second semester would be coming to an end.

I will be going back to the warmth of my Father,
I will be going back to the amazing dishes of my Mom's magical hands (Had enough of Domino's, KFC and McDonalds). Now its time for the amazing 'MAA KE HAATH KA KHAANA'
I will be going back to the unparalleled love and affection of my Sister,
I will be going back to the naughty mischiefs of my kid brother,
I will be going back to the lovely...................(left it to your imaginations).
YES!!!! I will be going back to Hyderabad.

The feeling is yet to sink in, but it feels as if the time has stopped and is crawling at a snail's pace. Though I had been home only a couple of months ago, but it still fels that I have been away from home for ages.

It feels that in a faraway land amidst the serene breeze of the dew soaked atmosphere, comes a whiff of the most exotic scent fighting its way amidst the fierce movement of the torrents, through the unwanted nothings comes the scintillating fragrance of my home. Finally YES!!!!! I am going home.

Privyet Hyderabad, Dasvidaniya Bangalore.

P.S:- 1) Privyet and Dasvidaniya means Hello and Goodbye respectively in Russian.
2) My friends Harshit and Karan have redesigned their popular website www.mba10.com. So all you MBA guys out there, just click into the website and get enlightened.

Invincible Nadal blows away Federer

The Australian open has ended on a predictable note. I always knew that the final would be between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer and Nadal would emerge victorious. That is exactly what happened. Nadal blew away Federer 7-5 3-6 7-6(3) 3-6 6-2 to deny Federer a chance to equal the legendary Pete Sampras' record of 14 grand slam victories. Now Federer has to wait till the Wimbledon to have any chance of equalling Sampras' record. Because Federer or for that matter any one else doesn't have the game to defeat Nadal on clay court. That is why Nadal is called the 'KING OF CLAY'.

The match began on a predictable note with Nadal winning the first set. Federer came back to win the 2nd and 4th set but simply ran out of answers to Nadal in the final set.

When the game comes down to stamina Nadal is simply unbeatable and the testimony to this was his gruelling 5 hrs 12 mins semifinal against Fernando Verdasco. Now I don't think that Federer can ever beat Nadal because Nadal has a superior game and stamina when compared to Federer.

I always thought that Federer is the most overrated player in Tennis.

He won 13 grand slams at a time when there was no formidable player to challenge Federer. His name can never be taken along with the legend like Sampras, who won 14 grand slams when players like Boris Becker, Andre Agassi, Stefen Edberg, Michael Chang were still around and the competition in Men's Tennis was at its peak.

But nothing of that type was there when Federer was winning one grand slam after the other. But with the emergence of Nadal, Federer was made to realize where he actually stands.

Now Federer should gracefully retire because till Nadal is in the Tennis arena, Federer can never defeat him.

CONGRATULATIONS NADAL!!!!!!!!!!! WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!
